Jade and foster mom Heather February 11, 2023

Jade was adopted a couple of days ago, and we snapped this last photo of Jade and her foster mom, Heather, together. The two had an undeniable connection right from the beginning!

Jade was trapped with her 5 kittens in August 2022. She was vetted and released back into her neighborhood because her level of socialization was unclear, but Jade was tenacious and brave and made it clear that she had been someone’s pet at one time, and longed for an indoor-only life with a truly forever person.

Heather continued feeding Jade outside and socializing her, until she was ready to come inside. Jade and Heather shared a beautiful bond, but she was still a bit shy around strangers. In December 2022, Jade started staying at the Cat Room in Overland Park PetsMart, so that she could get more exposure to other humans and to get noticed by potential adopter/s.

Jade needed a calm and patient person, who understood that it might take some time for her to feel safe in her new home. That special person finally found Jade just in time for the two of them to celebrate Valentine’s Day together!

We are all grateful for Heather, for taking a chance on Jade, and for showing her how wonderful humans can be. We wish Jade a beautiful life in her new home, where she will be showered with love and affection.
