At Heart of America Humane Society (HAHS), we strive to improve the lives of animals in need. In 2022, our organization celebrated 30 years pursuing our mission of helping homeless animals find their forever homes. So far this year, we have adopted out 293 cats and 108 dogs to their forever homes! Whether an animal is homeless, or in a home with limited resources, our volunteers are there! We continue to provide support to our partnering municipal shelters, Kansas City Kansas Animal Services and Lee’s Summit Animal Shelter.

In addition to municipal support, HAHS acquired a very dedicated group of volunteers, our Outreach Team! The Outreach Team provides much needed resources to pet owners in an effort to keep animals out of already overcrowded shelters. Then, in August, the HAHS TNR (trap, neuter, and return) Angels Team formed to help reduce the population of feral cat colonies in the community. From August 1st to now, we have already prevented over 1,500 kittens from being born without homes. While we’ve made great strides in our efforts to improve the lives of animals, we still have a lot to accomplish!

We need your support to continue to pursue our mission. Here is what we are doing with your money. Your donations go toward providing education, resources, and vet services to the animals in our care and in the community. We are an all-volunteer 501c3, so all donations are tax deductible.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us. We would be happy to provide you additional information about how you can support our mission. If you wish to contribute, you may donate through our website at www.heartofamericahs.org or by using the donate button above.

Sincerely,

Janet Franklin, President
