It is hard to believe that just a month ago we celebrated our current HAHS volunteers with the 30th Anniversary Picnic. If it was not for the people that selflessly donate their time and knowledge, there wouldn’t be a HAHS. Since its inception in 1992, the sole mission of our 100% volunteer organization, has been to find good forever homes for animals in our care. Along the way, we had built partnerships with Lee’s Summit Animal Shelter and Kansas City Kansas Animal Services, as a way to broaden our community reach. It truly is a team effort to make an organization like ours going. From adoption events that take place every Saturday at PetSmart locations in Olathe, Overland Park and Lee’s Summit, to fundraising, fostering, vetting and community outreach, it literally takes a village to continue our important, life-saving mission.
