In Pursuit of Finding Every Pet a Home
About Us
Heart of America Humane Society is a 100% volunteer organization working to find good homes for animals. We do not have a shelter of our own, instead we have created a cooperative partnership with the Lee’s Summit Municipal Animal Shelter and Kansas City Kansas Animal Services. We have adoption events most Saturdays at PetSmart Olathe, PetSmart Overland Park, and PetSmart Lee’s Summit.
Our Foster Homes
In addition to working with local shelters, we also have a network of volunteer foster homes. Fostering gives us the opportunity to observe and evaluate an animal’s behavior and traits outside of the intimidating shelter environment. That foster knowledge helps us create a much better match between an animal’s personality and their new human(s).
Outreach
Heart of America Humane Society has a long history of helping pets in the community and out boots on the ground Outreach Team is one more extension of that effort.
